VACC Emergency Food Project: The installation of a cold room and freezer room
This project is the culmination of over two years of fundraising projects by the Griffith University Lions Club. The Griffith University Lions Club gratefully acknowledges the Australian Lions Foundation for the provision of equal funds to this project; and people, organisations and fellow Lions Clubs who have all assisted in this fundraising.
On the 23rd November, 2017 the Griffith University Lions Club in conjunction with dollar for dollar funding from the Australian Lions Foundation Ltd officially completed a special project for the Village Avenue Community Church (VACC) Emergency Food Relief Program, “The installation of a cold room and freezer room”. There was an official handover and inspection of the project, followed by a lunch prepared by Peter Cox (VACC Community Pastor) with food sourced for distribution by the VACC Emergency Food Project.
Lion Daynan (President) said, “We believe by replacing the current situation a number of refrigerators and separate freezers will offer a greater range of fresh food for distribution”
We welcomed as special guests, DG Ann Reed Q201q1 and AFL Director Lesley Lyons along with Ian and Mandy Smith from Pinelands Lions Club.
It was delightful to have our guests share this special event and thank them for their comments of encouragement.
